Capture the Spotlight:
Class Photo Week & Individual Portraits (May 4th-8th)
Here's what you need to know:
• Class Photo & Mini Showcase: Students should arrive at their regular class time in full costume, hair and make-up (your choice) on their designated class day. Each class will begin with a fun mini showcase where dancers perform their recital routines for classmates, followed by a professional group class photo session.
•Individual Portraits: All individual recital photos will be taken during your dancer’s regular class time during Photo Week. Every student will have two individual photos taken in each of their recital costumes during their scheduled class. Individual photos are limited to two poses per class/costume. There will not be a separate individual portrait day this season.
What to Expect on Class Photo Day:
• Arrival: Dancers should arrive at their regular class time in full costume, with hair and makeup complete (if desired). Bring all additional costumes, tights, and shoes for any other classes they have that day in a labeled hanging garment bag.
• Costume Check: Instructors will do a quick check of costumes to identify any issues that might need addressing before the recital.
• Photo Attire: Dancers will be photographed in full costume with hair styled close to the show style (clean buns or ponytails). Light makeup is optional but recommended.
Studio Layout:
Dressing Room: The large back room will be our photo studio, and the smaller side studio will be our designated dressing room for students to leave their belongings.
Practice Room/Stage: The large front studio will be transformed into our practice space and "stage" for the mini showcases.
Photo Process:
• Students will first set their bags down in the designated dressing room (if they have multiple classes). To keep the space clear, if your dancer is NOT in multiple classes, please do not bring a bag.
• All classes scheduled for the same time will gather in the front studio (practice space).
• One class at a time will be called back to the photo studio for their group class photo.
• Following the group photo, students will be called back in smaller groups for individual photos. Each student will have two individual poses taken in each of their dance costumes.
•After photos, students will return to the large studio for their mini-showcase and watch their classmates perform.
PHOTO WEEK SCHEDULE:
Dancers should arrive to their class at regular time on their regular day. Dancers must arrive IN COSTUME with hair and makeup completed. Makeup is not required, but hair should be neat and free of flyaways.
There are several small ADJUSTMENTS to the schedule for some classes. Please read below for correct arrival and pick-up times.
Cancelled/ADJUSTED Classes During Photo Week:
Monday 5/4
5:15 Teen Acro Technique
7:30 pm Adult Hip-Hop
8:15 pm: Comp & Choreo Class
Tuesday 5/5
Ballet 3 Advanced will take GROUP & Individual Photos on Tuesday 5/5
Jazz/Hip-Hop Tumble will be picked up at 5 pm instead of 5:15 pm
Recital T-Shirts will not have arrived for Junior Dance Discovery and Showtime Jazz. Please wear black Leggings and a Bright, solid colored tank top or T-Shirt.
Wednesday 5/6
Ballet 3 Advanced will take "make-up" photos for any absences, but will practice their dance on this day (no costume)
Tumble Ballet Tap will arrive at 4:45 pm and NOT 4 pm
Thursday 5/7
Jazz 2 will arrive at 5:45 and go until 6:30 with Elementary Tap INSTEAD OF normal class time of 6:30-7:15.
Senior Pointe Photos will be from 6:30-6:45 before technique class.
Senior Conditioning, Pre-Pointe and Leaps & Turns are Cancelled.
Ballet 4 and 5 Technique Class WILL be held from 6:45-8 pm
Senior Pointe Class WILL be held from 8-8:30 pm
