With only six classes left after Spring Break (April 3rd to April 12th), it's time for our dancers and teachers to put the final touches on their routines!
Regular attendance is crucial during this time to ensure your child feels happy, confident, and ready to shine on stage.
Here's why every class counts:
• Perfecting the Performance: These final sessions are dedicated to cleaning and polishing the choreography. Missing a class can disrupt the flow and timing for the entire group, even if your dancer is strong or up to speed.
• Building Confidence: Consistent practice fosters muscle memory and builds the confidence your child needs to deliver their best performance.
• Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Dance is a collaborative art form. Partnering, formations, and timing all rely on everyone being present.
If your child isn't feeling 100%, but is well enough to observe, consider these options:
• Have them sit in and watch class! Observing classmates can be beneficial.
• Join virtually, if offered by your class. This allows them to stay connected and involved.
Communication is Key!
If your child must miss a class entirely due to illness or injury, please let us know in advance by calling 757-340-1534 or emailing [email protected].
Friendly Reminder: To participate in the recital on May 31st, all dance accounts must be paid in full by May 29th. Most patrons pay 10 total installments from September 1st to May 29th. The final installment is auto-charged on May 29th prior to recital. Please make sure your accounts are up to date!
Students with 3 or more dances are encouraged to bring a small clothes basket or plastic bin with a photo of them and their name on it. You can also affix a “wallet-size” school photo to the Garment Bag Tag to help us locate student bags and items!
Many of our volunteers do not know all the performers names, so the “Picture Box” makes it easier for them to be able to find your child’s belongings or put them in their basket. It also allows your student to keep all their concert needs organized in one place! It is easier to toss items like accessories, hairpieces, and tights into a box rather than a dance bag when making quick changes at recital.
